Course Description: Learning FileMaker Pro: Introduction (Windows)
Overview: Students will use FileMaker Pro 11 Advanced to create and use databases to store and organize information so that it is available for efficient retrieval. This class is suitable for FileMaker Pro versions 7, 8, 8.5, 9, 10 and 11.Prerequisites: Before taking this course, students should be familiar with the basic functions of their computer’s operating system. Students should also have basic word processing skills, such as copying and pasting text, formatting text, and so on. Previous experience with an earlier version of FileMaker or other database software is recommended. Delivery method: Instructor-led, group-paced, classroom-delivery learning model with structured hands-on activities. Benefits: Students will learn how to build a new database by defining fields and entering data. Students will learn to sort database records and will locate records in a database that match specific criteria. Students will also learn to create multiple layouts in order to display database records differently to meet various needs, such as for entering new records, printing mailing labels, and more. Target student: Learning FileMaker Pro: Introduction was designed for the student who has little or no experience using FileMaker Pro. What's next: This course, Learning FileMaker Pro: Introduction, is the first course in this series. Learning FileMaker Pro: Intermediate, the next course in this series, teaches students how to create and use relational databases using FileMaker Pro.
